Permeable Reactive Barrier (PRB) Technology
EnviroMetal Technologies Inc. (ETI), now
part of the Adventus Group, is the world's leader in application
of permeable reactive barrier (PRB) technology for in
situ remediation of groundwater impacted by volatile
organic compounds (VOCs). A typical PRB configuration consists
of a zero-valent iron (ZVI) emplaced across the flow path
of a VOC plume. As plume flows through the PRB under natural
gradients, the VOCs are destroyed to non-toxic end products.
